About this Event
Join Active Cheshire via Zoom to chat all things menopause from the comfort of your own home/garden/office. A Menopause Café is a group directed discussion, there are no speakers, and no products or services are promoted, inspired by by Rachel Weiss in Perth, Scotland. A huge success with over 400 Menopause Café events worldwide.
In light of current movement restrictions, we are rolling out online Menopause Café events as part of Active Cheshire’s #ActiveChats, to enable everyone to keep those all-important conversations going and support their physical and mental wellbeing.
The event is being organised by Active Cheshire’s Active Minds to support the local community. Why Active Cheshire, a charity based in in Cheshire and Warrington that has been promoting physical activity over 30 years?
Physical activity can help women manage and cope better with their symptoms and yet, even if the desire to be active is high, just under a third of women drop off from physical activity during menopause.
Menopausal symptoms, low exercise self-efficacy and physical activity knowledge, social stigma and lack of social support are significant barriers to participation. Menopause is a significant opportunity to re-introduce and support physical activity behaviours.
So, don’t hesitate to join in the conversation and help us break the stigma around the menopause.
