This is so important as we all have mental health, just as we all have physical health. Mental ill-health can strike at any time and can affect people from all walks of life.
Although things are improving, stigma still exists around mental ill-health. As a society, we don’t tend to know how to take care of our mental health like we do our physical health. This means that people may not know how to support a friend, family member or colleague experiencing a mental health issue, or where to go for support with their own mental health.

Would you know how to help some?
Mental Health First Aid (MHFA) is an internationally recognised training course which teaches people how to spot the signs and symptoms of mental ill-health and provide help on a first aid basis. MHFA England training won’t teach you to be a therapist, but just like physical first aid, it will teach you to listen, reassure and respond, even in a crisis. Adult MHFA England courses are for everyone aged 16 upwards. Every MHFA England online course is delivered by a quality assured Instructor Member who has attended our Instructor Training programme accredited by the Royal Society for Public Health, and is trained to keep people safe and supported while they learn.
Our online courses are public courses or bespoke to fit individual needs. To find out more, please email Roberta.email@example.com
Feedback from our courses.
“Great and insightful course, helping me to further my knowledge of mental health and increase my confidence in tackling any challenges I face. It has also been beneficial for my own mental health, making sure I take time for myself.”
“I would really like to thank Roberta for her time and such a fantastic course. She really enabled us to gain an understanding of how to be mental health first alders but also what mental health means to us. I would thoroughly recommend this course to friends, family and colleagues.”
“I am glad that I attended the course. I have learnt so much on what to do and not to do. Doing the course over 4 mornings instead of two full days I think was just right for me. The sessions were at time very heavy and at time very emotional. Having the “homework” as well, if doing it over two days, I think it would have been too much to absorb and trying to find a happy hour afterwards. I messaged Roberta before the course about a personal issue I may have and she took that in account throughout the course which made me more at ease (Thank you Roberta). Roberta was calm, clear and informative throughout. Shame that there is not an excellent option when rating the lead instructor. The attendees were just right group and we all got along (just knowing one other of the other five). There was not “a-know-it-all type” of person. Everyone was able to express their views and listen to others. I will be certainly reading the book in more in-depth. I am now more ready than before to help someone. Thank you MHFA”
“Overall the course was very informative and taught me a lot of things that I didn’t know. The group I was with were helpful and lovely to work with. Roberta was patient and supportive and very open to any questions or queries.”
