“We believe everyone should have the opportunity to be active - regardless of age, ability, background, or identity.”
Active Cheshire leads efforts to advance inclusion and equity in physical activity and sport.
As a Sport England System Partner, we address inequalities, promote inclusive practices, and guide partners toward co-designed, person-centred solutions in Cheshire and Warrington.
Our work supports the Playing Our Part strategy, where diversity and inclusion drive progress, alongside national initiatives like Sport England’s Uniting the Movement.
“By 2031, we want to have achieved a progressive & inclusive environment supported by diverse networks, empowered places, and systemic change driven by shared knowledge and collaboration.” (Playing our Part 2025)
If you face issues like discrimination, unsafe environments, or barriers to activity in sport or physical activity, reach out for confidential help.

In Cheshire and Warrington, barriers often prevent people from enjoying physical activity, widening health gaps.
Inclusion isn’t just a principle – Inclusion builds fairer, healthier communities by addressing these challenges.
✅ Reduces health inequalities across the system
✅ Increases access for historically excluded groups
✅ Strengthens partnerships through shared values
✅ Supports local and national strategies (e.g., All Together Fairer)
✅ Empowers people through better physical, mental, and social wellbeing
